I just recently celebrated my one year anniversary at No Limit. Joining No Limit has been a life changing experience!
I’ve struggled with my weight since I was a teenager, mainly because I love to eat. A LOT. And for most of my adult life, I haven’t had an active lifestyle. Over the years, my weight has gone up and down, depending on how “good” I’ve been behaving. Sometimes, I would go to the gym regularly and eat healthy. Other times, I’d stop working out completely and pig out on junk food on a regular basis. There was never any middle ground. It was always all or nothing.
As a physician, intellectually, I knew I should be taking better care of myself. But, it was also very easy to blame my job as the reason for not working out, because of crazy work hours.
I had stopped working out on a regular basis for about 1.5 years when I started going to No Limit. My motivation for going was actually to improve my dancing. I have been ballroom dancing since 2013 and dancing competitively since 2014. My coach had been telling me that I needed to build up my strength and endurance in order to advance my dancing. I had just been going to No Limit for a couple weeks when a ballroom competition made me realize just how out of shape I was. I danced 20 heats over a 3 hour period and was afraid that either I was going to vomit or faint in the middle of the dance floor.
For the first time ever, I actually enjoy working out.
Since around Thanksgiving 2015, I’ve been training twice a week, first with Justin and now with Bri. And I come to boot camp when I can. I need someone to push me to work hard, but in a way that’s not intimidating. I feel that all the trainers at No Limit are great at pushing us and motivating us in a positive way. And best of all, I really do feel like we’re a family at No Limit. Everyone, from the trainers to the clients, are nice and supportive. I feel like we’re all in this together!
