Before No Limit, I mostly did group exercise classes at a local commercial gym like Piyo, Bodycombat, and yoga. Going with a friend helped me get back into the gym, but after a while, I didn’t think I would be able to accomplish what I wanted to achieve just by going to the gym. I needed something else. I had started to lift weights on the machines at the gym, but I wanted to learn the correct form for lifting free weights so that I did not hurt myself.
My son had trained with Jeff for baseball for years, so I thought I would reach out to see if he would be willing to take me on as a client. I wanted my kids to see that I was practicing what I preached: exercise, weight management, and eating healthy. I was tired of being overweight and being reminded every time I went to the doctor that I was pre-diabetic. To this day, these are still my main motivators.
My biggest challenge has been and always will be…food, food, and more food! Our family eats out a lot and we socialize with friends over food (and wine) too much. Also, I have had medical issues which have affected my energy levels for the past 3 years. However, practicing healthy habits consistently have definitely helped!
I love my experience at No Limit so far. Don’t get me wrong, I still have a love/hate relationship with lifting weights. I LOVE how it has changed my body so far, but I HATE how slow and hard the process is! But, when I feel like not going, I just think back to why I started in the first place. I’ve continued to lose weight since starting at No Limit, but mostly I’ve noticed how much stronger I am and I LOVE it! For anyone on the fence about starting, well, you either want to do it or you don’t. My advice, go all in and do it for yourself and your loved ones.
