My journey at No Limit has been an absolutely incredible almost 4 year experience. It began during the Summer of 2011 with a Groupon to try out the No Limit Bootcamp for 4 weeks. At that time the No Limit gym was still a dream of Sako’s. Bootcamp was held at Eucalyptus Park in Anaheim Hills. I had done bootcamps in the past but they didn’t compare to the No Limit bootcamps, which at that time were taught by Mark and Tony. I hadn’t exercised in awhile and was definitely out of shape. I had done some personal training at 24Hr Fitness about 10 years prior but it was nothing compared to what I was about to encounter. When Sako opened the gym in October of 2011 I decided to sign up for bootcamp. I really wasn’t committed and didn’t go very often and it wasn’t until January of 2012 that I made a serious commitment to get into shape. Sako e-mailed out an opportunity to everyone to apply for his 90 day Body Transformation program through personal training and nutritional coaching. Those interested had to answer a series of questions as to why we really wanted to participate. Sako was looking for individuals that would be committed. I didn’t know Sako at the time I applied and he confided in me, much later, that he wasn’t sure if I was up for the challenge and it was Mark and Tony that told him they thought I could do it. Yes! I was chosen to participate with two others. My real fitness journey began at No Limit on 1/16/12. This is when fitness got into my blood.

I really chose No Limit because of the quality of trainers that I was experiencing at the bootcamps in the park. The bootcamps were tough and the trainers were really big on form. Form is extremely important to me. In order to get the maximum benefit out of an exercise and also to prevent injury, you really need to have good form. No Limit also has the most amazing clients. Everyone is friendly and it feels like family at No Limit. I have made some very special friends through my fitness journey at No Limit.

Sako was our trainer for the 90 day Body Transformation which ran from January through March 2012. During this transformation we did personal training 3 times a week and we were coached on nutrition and emailed our food logs to Sako weekly. For those of you struggling with the nutrition side of being healthy it’s amazing what it does for you when you write down everything you eat and give it to your trainer. It absolutely makes you accountable and for me it keeps me from eating things I shouldn’t because I would write everything down. Sako would tell me where I was doing good and where I needed to make changes. If I ate a piece of dark chocolate or something I knew I shouldn’t, I wrote it down. I was very honest in my food journal and you really need to be if you are serious about your nutrition. Believe me the trainers know when you are being honest with your food journal and when you are not. They know how much you should be losing and in what amount of time you should lose it in. It’s not magic it’s science. The only person you are hurting is yourself if you do not log all of your food intake. For me food journaling is key. I never thought I would be able to give up my cheese and crackers, pita chips and hummus or greek yogurt and it has been such an easy transition out of those foods. I used to eat these foods all the time and I do not miss them.
When I started at No Limit I had a shoulder impingement. I had done a lot of physical therapy which minimally helped and when they felt I wasn’t getting better I was referred to a surgeon. I never made an appointment to see the surgeon as I had talked to others who had the surgery and I wanted no part of it. Those of you who know me know that I try to fix things as natural as possible and surgery wasn’t natural to me. When we had to do Superman’s in bootcamp I could only extend one arm out and the other would be bent because of the impingement. I also could not reach up behind my back to unhook my bra. After doing personal training for just a short time my impingement completely disappeared. I was ecstatic that it disappeared from the exercises that Sako had us doing. Not only did my impingement disappear but so did a lot of body fat! Since my journey began at No Limit with Sako I have lost 37 lbs,12.4% body fat, 6.5″ off of my waist, 2″ off my thighs, 4.5″ off my hips, 4.75″ off my chest and 3/4″ off my arms and I’ve gained a lot of muscle. I have degeneration in my neck and my spine and I have never felt better! I know that working out is the reason why these challenges in my body do not bother me like they used too.

After the 90 day body transformation I immediately signed up again for personal training. I have never stopped. Although I lost my job in May of 2014 I still keep the same personal training appointment at 6am that I started with in January of 2012 and I still train with Sako. I rarely miss a personal training appointment. It’s like having an appointment with your boss, you don’t cancel. I have a commitment to Sako and myself and Sako has a commitment to me. I actually look forward to every single workout at No Limit. I personal train 2 days a week and do bootcamp 3 to 4 times a week. I also do cardio after every workout for 30 to 45 minutes. I eat clean and I journal every day every meal that I eat. I do not e-mail my food journal to Sako anymore. He knows if I get off track just by looking at me. Yes he is that good! He does weigh and measure me once a month which also keeps me stay accountable as well. This year I have really fine tuned my nutrition. Richard has been so instrumental in guiding me with my nutrition. If you want to lose weight, look and feel better and truly be healthy then nutrition needs to be your focus. It doesn’t matter if you are young or old it’s never to late to start your fitness journey. I began my fitness journey at No Limit at 49 years old. I’m 53 years young now and I feel and look better then I did when I started.

Why do I do what I do? I do it for myself, my health and to feel good for as long as my body will allow me too. I now also do it in hopes of inspiring others that aren’t where they would like to be physically. If I can make a difference in just one persons life and inspire them to make a change for their health and better their quality of life then it makes me happy. Thank you Sako for believing in me and helping me better my life and my body. You truly are a blessing to so many. Thank you to all of the trainers, staff and clients at No Limit who have been a part of my fitness journey. So many of you inspire me daily. You truly do!
If you’re ready to transform your body and life and want to be part of an amazing group of like minded people, this is your chance.
