Donna Shares Her Story

by

Before No Limit I had no workout routine at all.   Walking my dog was it .  I didn’t like to workout so I didn’t. I also have a sedentary job which is not a good thing.  I actually have joined gyms and have never gone.  I never had a weight problem growing up but was a softball player so I was always active.  I was eating (and still do)  eat too much food and portions that are larger than necessary .

These habits and lifestyle did not work out well. I really never lost the “baby weight”  from my pregnancy just over 20 years ago and my body was never the same after that.  I started gaining more weight probably 10-15 years ago when my son was young and it got slowly worse over time.

“When I started in March 2016, I was at my heaviest (198  lbs) and decided I needed to do something.”

When I started in March 2016, I was at my heaviest (198  lbs) and decided I needed to do something. I Researched online, yelp reviews, etc.  No Limit is close to my home and I knew I also needed a place that was convenient so it wouldn’t be an excuse not to go.

After doing the trial I decided the group training was what I needed/need  to do.  I needed to be accountable and I needed support and to be pushed to do the workouts (as I knew I wouldn’t do it on my own i.e. like going to a gym on my own. )  I loved the people and how welcoming and helpful everyone was. I liked that they remembered my name and addressed me as I came in (part of the feeling welcomed thing).  It wasn’t intimidating.

Since the day I started it’s been great!  It’s been a miracle.  It must be great for me to have lasted past the first few days. When I started seeing the success I was having, it made to easier to keep going. I said I worked too hard to quit.

“I felt proud and accomplished after each bootcamp.”

I remember the first day…very hard. Felt like I was going to vomit . Everything was difficult.  I literally couldn’t walk and hurt so much after the first day. I didn’t know any of the exercises or the names of them. I needed a lot more help and asked a lot more questions.  However, I felt proud and accomplished after each bootcamp. Every trainer provided me with the positive encouragement during the workouts.

My biggest motivation has been my weight, borderline high blood pressure, feeling tired and old.  I eat healthy but still do eat more (larger portions, seconds) than I should .  My eating habits have changed a lot though, for the better. I eat healthier things, just too much of them a lot of the time. This is something I need to keep working on. I’m sure I could have lost more than 30 lbs if this was not the case.

“I have lost 30 lbs and lost 5 inches off my waist”

So far I have lost 30 lbs, lost 5 inches off my waist, blood pressure is now back to normal, cholesterol and triglycerides are now normal.  From May-Dec, I lost 6.1% body fat

I am most happy about the  5 inches that have come off my waist.  2nd would be my blood pressure and labs.

If I can do it, anyone can!
